Here at St. Mary’s College we provide football at a competitive level and also just for fun! All year groups are encouraged to get involved from 1st year up to 6th year, whether it be on the school football teams or by participating in the “fun” in-school, tournament.
Competitive Football
There are football teams for all ages, we have U15’s, U17’s and U19’s. All of our teams compete in the FAI schools Leinster A leagues, and the senior teams play in the FAI schools Leinster Cup each year. This allows the students to play a number of games in the season, both home and away, and enjoy football with their teammates. New players are always welcome to come try out for the team.
St. Mary’s Fun Football Tournament
Around Easter time each year there is a fun soccer tournament where the students can make teams with their friends and enter into a lunch time tournament. This is a great way to get some exercise, have some fun, and make some new friends. This runs at lunch in the PE Hall and on the pitch area for a number of weeks, with the final being played on Active Schools Week. All students are welcome, even if you are a beginner!
