Hockey
For years hockey has been an extremely popular and enjoyable sport in St. Mary’s. It brings the girls together and creates life long friendships.

We have four hockey teams in St. Mary’s: First Years, Minors, Juniors and Seniors.

Last year’s Senior Captain was Sarah Merrigan and vice captain was Ciara O’Callaghan. A huge thank you must be said to both girls for all their hard work and ever present team spirit. The Seniors made it as far as the semi-finals this year and with hard work and lots of enjoyment they hope to do even better next year.

We have two brilliant Hockey coaches in St. Mary’s: Ms. Hegarty and Mr. PJ Nolan They both encourage and support us …as well as making us do the dreaded drills!

Although hockey is not compulsory in St. Mary’s, many girls take it up as an extra curricular activity. It encourages team spirit and helps the girls get to know each other, as well as geing great fun!

Our school hockey colours are; navy skirt, white shirt, navy socks with light blue on top.
